Job Description:
As an Assistant Officer: Registration Assistant, your role will primarily involve assisting students during the registration process. You will provide professional customer service across various platforms including email, face-to-face interactions, telephone, and chatbot communications. Additionally, you will support students with form completion, data entry, document collection, and troubleshooting queries related to the registration process.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Offer friendly and efficient customer service through various communication channels (email, face-to-face, and telephone).
- Student Support: Assist students with the registration process, including form submission, documentation collection, and answering their queries.
- Enquiry Handling: Address enquiries from students and applicants using resources like FAQs, website information, and data sources to ensure accurate responses.
- Escalation of Issues: Forward non-standard or complex queries to the appropriate team leader for further resolution.
- Document Management: Collect and verify relevant documentation from students and applicants, ensuring that all required paperwork is completed and processed.
- Data Capturing: Assist in capturing student data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Adherence to Policies: Enforce university guidelines and procedures to maintain compliance during the registration process.
- Quality Assurance: Review documents for accuracy and ensure that the information provided to students is correct before processing or giving feedback.

Requirements:
Inherent Job Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Minimum of Grade 12 or NQF Level 4.
- Work Experience: At least 6 months experience in a customer service or contact centre environment.
- Exclusion: Applicants must not be currently enrolled as students.
Recommendations (Preferred Qualifications and Experience):
- Post-School Qualification: A relevant certificate or diploma.
- Administrative Experience: A minimum of two years of administrative work experience.
