Responsibilities
As a Research Assistant in the SDL Unit, you will undertake diverse academic and administrative tasks that contribute to the research team’s success. Your primary duties include:
- Research Support:
- Conduct literature searches for books and articles, both online and in the university library.
- Perform quality control checks on in-text citations and reference lists to ensure academic accuracy.
- Provide administrative assistance to the Senior Administrative Assistant for unit-related tasks.
- Event Assistance:
- Support faculty members during conferences, seminars, and workshops for both students and staff.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background:
- A four-year university degree is essential.
- Honours or Master’s degree holders will be given preference.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), email, and internet research.
- Strong academic writing and editing skills, with attention to detail and proper grammar usage.
- Personal Attributes:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage pressure, and meet deadlines.
