The position of Human Capital Clerk falls under the Human Capital Management (HCM) division and reports directly to the Human Capital Practitioner. The successful candidate will be stationed in the Nxanatseni Region, which is known for its unique blend of ecosystems, rich wildlife, and picturesque landscapes.
Job Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Background: A minimum of NQF Level 6 (National Diploma in Human Resource or Office Administration Diploma).
- Work Experience: 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Knowledge of Relevant Legislation: Familiarity with policies, regulations, and procedures relevant to the human resource field.
- Numeracy Skills: Ability to handle numerical data effectively.
- Confidentiality: Must be discreet and handle confidential information with professionalism.
- Speed Writing / Shorthand Writing Skills: Efficient at note-taking during meetings.
- Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, coupled with good interpersonal abilities.
- Additional Skills: Active listening, service orientation, coordination, time management, and excellent telephone etiquette.
Key Responsibilities
The Human Capital Clerk will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of the HCM division. The primary duties include, but are not limited to:
- Administrative Duties: Handle all administrative tasks related to employee appointments, employment applications, resignations, and promotions.
- Payroll Management: Prepare and submit salary instructions for approval before forwarding to Payroll. Process payroll and address any discrepancies in HCM administration.
- Data Management: Capture and maintain accurate employee data on the Sage 300 system.
- Leave Administration: Ensure the timely and correct leave administration on a monthly basis for all employees.
- File Maintenance: Maintain up-to-date Human Capital files, ensuring that information is easily retrievable.
- Support and Reporting: Provide administrative support to the department and respond to HR-related inquiries. Assist the Human Capital Practitioner in preparing monthly reports/statistics such as appointments, deaths, promotions, etc.
