The primary role of the Facilitator (Arts & Culture) is to promote community arts education and cultural activities throughout the eThekwini Region. Working within the Libraries and Heritage department, this position supports local artists, fosters economic development through cultural projects, and strengthens community ties through social integration initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
As a Facilitator in Arts & Culture, your core responsibilities will include:
- Arts Education and Development: Lead and implement community-focused arts education and development initiatives.
- Economic Development: Drive projects that create economic opportunities within the community, especially through township tourism.
- Cultural Heritage Promotion: Assist in developing and promoting cultural heritage while conducting outreach programs for various community segments.
- Social Integration Projects: Support projects that promote social cohesion and address themes like moral regeneration, religious harmony, and inclusion for refugees and immigrants.
- Training and Skills Development: Facilitate training sessions for local artists, fostering growth in the creative sector.

Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Performing Arts or a related field.
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in the arts environment.
- Additional Requirement: A valid driver’s license.
Preferred Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Degree (NQF Level 7) in Performing Arts or a related field.
- Experience: 4 years of relevant experience in the arts environment.
