Key Responsibilities of the Role
As an Administrative Officer II (Benefits Administrator), you will take charge of ensuring seamless benefits administration for employees. Your duties include:
1. Pension/Provident Fund Administration
- Manage all aspects of the pension and provident fund programs.
- Offer expert advice on retirement policies and benefits to employees and managers.
- Provide historical insights into retirement benefits, medical pensions, and penalties.
- Liaise with fund administrators and ensure compliance with UJ policies.
2. Claims Administration
- Oversee retirement, death, disability, and funeral claims.
- Assist employees, families, and financial advisors with claims-related matters.
- Ensure smooth administration of post-retirement medical aid benefits.
3. Employee Study Benefits
- Administer UJ’s tuition reimbursement programs.
- Provide guidance on study benefit policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate financial capturing of study benefits on the Oracle system.
4. Leave Management
- Administer all leave-related matters, including historical and sabbatical leave.
- Process leave encashment requests and generate quarterly leave trend reports.
- Offer advisory support on leave policies and assist with audits.
5. Long Service Awards
- Facilitate employee recognition through long-service awards.
- Participate in organizing the Annual Long Service Award Function.
6. Policy Compliance and Training
- Help update benefits-related policies and ensure alignment with HR legislation.
- Conduct training sessions for HR generalists on employee benefits.
7. Job Evaluations
- Coordinate and conduct job evaluation sessions.
- Act as a qualified job grader in collaboration with senior managers.
8. Risk and Compliance Management
- Maintain data integrity and compile monthly risk registers.

9. Additional Contributions

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
