Purpose of the Customer Service Consultant Job
As a Customer Service Consultant, you will provide remote support to Post Office/Consumer Services staff, Post Bank customers, and prospective clients. The role involves assisting customers through various communication channels such as telephone, email, social media, and web chats, with a primary focus on telephonic support. Your responsibilities will include addressing inquiries, handling difficult queries, and assisting with banking functionalities like Electronic Fund Transfers (EFTs). Upholding company policies and delivering quality customer relationship management (CRM) will be key to your success.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound calls via multiple communication channels (telephone, email, social networks, web chats, etc.).
- Support Customer Service Clerks with account queries and resolve issues efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and company requirements.
- Communicate effectively with clients of all levels, including managing difficult inquiries.
- Maintain agreed service levels and deliver high-quality service within specified turnaround times.
- Demonstrate a 100% knowledge base and go the extra mile for clients.
- Achieve zero complaints and meet performance objectives as outlined in the Performance Management System.
- Treat clients and colleagues with integrity, respect, and honesty.
- Assist other sections as requested to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 with Mathematics and/or Accounting.
- 2 years of experience in a call center or banking environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Advantageous Qualifications:
- Diploma in Financial/Banking/Call Centre Operations/Customer Services at NQF Level 5.
- 2 years of financial services experience.
- Bi-lingual proficiency.
Knowledge and Skills
- Understanding of banking industry legislation such as FAIS and FICA.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to plan and organize tasks effectively.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Customer-oriented with a hands-on approach to work.
