Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer Job Description
The Planning, Monitoring & Evaluation Officer will be responsible for providing direction and guidance on NMISA’s strategic planning efforts. This includes conducting analysis, monitoring progress, and evaluating key performance indicators to support the organization’s objectives. You will also engage with the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition (DTIC) and the Department of Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation (DPME) to ensure timely submission of plans, reports, and documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Engage with senior management to ensure effective strategic planning, incorporating evidence-based input for long-term development.
- Performance Monitoring: Track performance against key indicators and ensure alignment with the Strategy Plan and Annual Performance Plan.
- Data Analysis: Collect, analyze, and verify performance information to inform progress and improvements across the organization.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure NMISA’s activities comply with applicable legislative requirements such as the Measurement Units and Measurement Standards Act, PFMA, and PAIA.
- Reporting & Audits: Prepare performance reports for both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and addressing any non-conformances.
- Evaluation & Feedback: Conduct periodic evaluations and provide feedback to managers, assisting in identifying areas for improvement.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Social Science, Public Policy, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification is a plus.
- Certifications in Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation are advantageous.
- A valid driver’s license.
Experience:
- At least five years of experience in planning, monitoring, and evaluating projects aligned with organizational strategy.
- Strong understanding of planning methodologies and performance monitoring systems.
Knowledge & Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of legislative frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in project management, documentation software (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and data analysis.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
