Administration Clerk Job Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate and control the administrative functionality within the Housing Administration department. This involves implementing procedures, applications, systems, and controls to facilitate the recording, updating, and circulation of information regarding various activities.
Requirements
- Driver’s License: A valid Code B Driver’s License is required.
- Office Administration: Good understanding and skills in office administration.
- PowerPoint Skills: Proficiency in PowerPoint presentations.
- Working Hours: Willingness to work outside official working hours.
- Time Management and Organization: Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Human Relations and Conflict Resolution: Ability to manage human relations and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Work Under Pressure: Capability to perform under pressure.
- Telephone Manner: Professional telephone etiquette.
- Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
Qualifications
- Education: A Senior Certificate or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to candidates with a Post Graduate or National Diploma.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office.
Experience
- Administration Experience: 2-3 years of relevant administration experience.
Key Performance Areas
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support related to the Human Settlements Division.
- Application Processing: Process applications and information related to housing activities.
- Education Coordination: Conduct and coordinate the Housing Education Consumer (HCE) Programme regarding waiting list applications, subsidy applications, new home ownership, and title deeds.
- Information Provision: Provide information to attorneys about title deeds and manage the transfer process.
- Clerical Support: Perform general clerical and office support tasks.
- Meeting Preparation: Prepare agendas and type minutes for meetings.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other related duties as requested by the Supervisor.

- Service Bonus: A service bonus equivalent to one month’s salary, where applicable, will be payable along with the normal benefits applicable to the Municipality, including a housing allowance for homeowners subject to certain conditions and relocation costs (conditions apply).
