About the Analyst Programmer Role the University of the Western Cape
As an Analyst Programmer within the ICS Applications Development and Support unit, you’ll be part of a team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust applications and solutions. You’ll collaborate closely with the Business Systems Unit Team Lead, contributing to the University’s mission by delivering ICT services that empower students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), focusing on development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain applications and solutions that meet business requirements.
- Ensure all solutions adhere to guidelines and best practices.
- Estimate effort for projects and prepare Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).
- Respond to and resolve first-line incidents or escalate issues as needed.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A National Diploma or Advanced Certificate (NQF 6) or equivalent qualification.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Software Developer working with Microsoft technologies, particularly .Net.
- Proven experience in a structured software development environment.
