Primary Job Functions
As a Caretaker in the City of Tshwane’s Waste Management Services, your duties will include:
Operations and Compliance
- Ensure the proper management of disposal sites according to permit conditions and regulations
- Supervise and manage waste disposal infrastructure
Daily Waste Processing
- Oversee the processing, covering, and compaction of waste cells
- Ensure that all waste is properly managed and disposed of
Equipment and Site Supervision
- Manage and supervise equipment allocated on-site
- Provide supervisory functions to personnel working on the site
Waste Recycling and Environmental Safety
- Oversee waste recycling activities at disposal sites
- Attend to complaints and incidents related to waste management
Health and Safety
- Report any form of non-compliance to the immediate supervisor
- Ensure occupational health and safety standards are followed at landfill sites
Administrative Duties
- Complete all administrative tasks related to landfill operations and waste disposal
Salary & Benefits
- Salary Scale: R213,444.00 – R296,448.00 per annum
- Estimated Total Package: R303,608.00 – R409,257.00 per annum
