About the Job
Rand Water, one of South Africa’s largest bulk water suppliers, is seeking qualified candidates to fill 8 permanent District Aide/Attendant positions. The successful applicants will assist in general pipeline, valve, and meter repair and maintenance in various locations, ensuring the smooth operation of water distribution systems.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Grade 12 certificate (Matric).
- Work Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to perform maintenance on pipelines.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with teams and supervisors.
- Ability to ride a bicycle for patrolling pipeline routes.
- General maintenance knowledge related to valves and meters.
- Understanding of safety and safe working procedures.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
As a District Aide/Attendant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Pipeline Maintenance: Repairing and maintaining pipelines, valves, and meters.
- Pipeline Patrols: Regularly patrolling pipelines by bicycle to identify issues.
- Standby Duties: Being available for emergency maintenance and support.
