Job Description
The Case Management Officer plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the referral and scheduling of cases in the ELRC. Key Performance Areas
- Management of Referral Forms and Case Scheduling
- Review referral forms for completion and accuracy, addressing deficiencies where necessary.
- Correspond with panellists and involved parties via email to coordinate schedules and case proceedings.
- Maintain detailed records of notices and communications in both physical and digital filing systems.
- Schedule venues and interpreters for hearings and processes, ensuring proper logistics.
- Record settlement agreements and arbitration awards in the ELRC’s dispute management system (DMS APP).
- Case Administration and Management
- Process condonation applications promptly.
- Ensure timely submission of arbitration awards by panellists.
- Submit monthly and quarterly statistical reports to senior management, highlighting key cases where needed.
- General Administration and Client Services
- Allocate cases equitably to interpreters and intermediaries.
- Maintain venue and case records on the DMS APP, coordinating logistical arrangements as necessary.
Requirements
- A 3-year Diploma/Degree in Labour Law or Industrial Relations.
- 3-5 years of general administrative experience.
- Knowledge of the education sector, internal ELRC policies, and case management.
- Strong skills in communication, organisation, time management, and report writing.

2. Information Communication Technology Officer

Job Description
The Information Communication Technology (ICT) Officer is responsible for providing advanced ICT support to the ELRC. This role involves managing network infrastructure, providing first and second-line support, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems across various departments.
Key Performance Areas
- ICT Support and Infrastructure Maintenance
- Handle all ICT support queries received through email, phone, or intranet.
- Manage and maintain the council’s ICT asset database and ensure routine system updates.
- Design IT equipment specifications based on user requirements and install or rebuild servers as needed.
- Ensure that all hardware and software are up to date, monitor performance, and conduct regular backups.
- Administration of Communication Networks
- Configure and manage LAN, WAN, DNS, DHCP, and other critical network components.
- Provide ongoing support for the council’s systems, including Office 365, SAGE VIP, and Evolution.
- Manage network failures and coordinate repairs or recovery efforts promptly.
- System Security and Backups
- Monitor the antivirus systems and ensure all computers are protected from malware and unauthorized software.
- Ensure daily backups of key systems and manage the council’s disaster recovery plans.
- Access Control and Reporting
- Oversee the biometric access control system and provide weekly attendance reports to management.
- Assist the ICT Manager in preparing detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
Requirements
- A 3-year Degree/National Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology (NQF Level 6).
- 3-5 years of experience in network administration and working within ICT environments.
- Knowledge of network systems (LAN, WAN, DNS) and experience in working with Microsoft Office 365 and financial systems like SAGE VIP.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex technical problems and implement proactive solutions.
