End User Support Technician Job Description
Legal Aid SA is seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of End User Support Technician at their National Office in Braamfontein. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of application maintenance and support services for Legal Aid SA users.
Responsibilities
The End User Support Technician will be responsible for:
- Application Maintenance and Support: Provide application maintenance and support services to Legal Aid SA users, investigating and diagnosing problems with software applications, and working to resolve them.
- Incident Management: Receive and attend to logged incidents, prioritize requests, and provide appropriate responses through SQL queries, system parameter modifications, and developing workarounds. Escalate incidents to 2nd and 3rd party service providers when necessary.
- User Support and Training: Offer training to business users and ensure users and other stakeholders are kept informed about the progress of their support requests.
- System Monitoring: Monitor application logs, messaging systems, application pools, and services, reporting anomalies to ensure system availability. Perform daily systems monitoring and integration checks, and resolve daily PPU payment errors.
- Collaboration and Root Cause Analysis: Work with other technical personnel to perform root cause analysis and proactively enable the 2nd line to resolve incidents without undue escalation.
- Agile Scrum Participation: Participate in daily agile scrum sessions to ensure high-quality delivery.
Competencies Required
The ideal candidate for the End User Support Technician Vacancy should possess the following skills, knowledge, and attributes:
- A recognized Grade 12 certificate plus a three-year Computer qualification from a University/Technikon or other acknowledged tertiary institution.
- Three years of relevant work experience in an Information Systems (IS) Department.
- Sophisticated collaborative style.
- Proficiency in querying databases using SQL.
- Commitment to service excellence.
- Ability to coordinate across organizational levels and work with multi-level and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong networking skills with relevant stakeholders and effective integration across business units.
- Excellent analytical skills, business acumen, and the ability to manage ambiguity, meet demanding deadlines, and manage projects.
