Responsibilities
As an Engineering Assistant Electrical, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Line Inspection and Maintenance:
- Perform line inspections and servitude maintenance.
- Conduct hardware defect repairs to ensure optimal performance of transmission lines.
- Fault Investigations:
- Investigate faults in transmission lines and participate in restoration operations during emergencies.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to Zero Harm principles to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with occupational health and safety regulations, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act and handling of dangerous substances.
- Tool and Equipment Management:
- Maintain tools and equipment used in line maintenance and inspections.
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:
Qualification(s):
- Trade Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical at NQF Level 4 with 120 credits (Qualified Artisan).
Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations and maintenance.

- ORHVS authorization to take handover
