Key Responsibilities
As a Material Recording Clerk, your primary duties will include:
- Receiving and Issuing Stock: Receive stock according to purchase order numbers and issue stock as per VA2 requests. Maintain accurate handling of VA10 and VA11 cards.
- Stock Control and Management: Perform comprehensive stock control at the dispatch area, implementing the FIFO system and adhering to hygiene and safety standards.
- Inventory Management: Conduct monthly stock taking, replenishment, and disposal. Maintain minimum and maximum stock levels to avoid over and under-stocking.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Update inventory registers, compile reconciliation reports, maintain the O-9 file, and prepare the RLS02 form for payments.
- Store Maintenance: Keep the store clean and organized, dusting shelves and items, removing damaged stock, and ensuring a tidy work environment.
- Compliance and Reporting: Report losses, thefts, and damaged stock, and ensure compliance with departmental norms and standards.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum Education: A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Computer Literacy: A computer literacy certificate is essential.
- Experience: At least two years of relevant experience in supply chain management is preferred. Priority will be given to EPWP/Interns.
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a good understanding of public service prescripts and policies.
