Qualifications and Experience:
- National Diploma in Built Environment or equivalent
- Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the built environment
- Valid Code B driver’s license
- Project Management & Construction Management skills preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills, especially in Excel and report writing
- Analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
- Knowledge of laws and regulations in built environment/construction management
Key Performance Areas:
- Facilities Assessment and Inspections:
- Conduct assessments and inspections of facilities and equipment
- Report deficiencies and recommend corrective actions to supervisors
- Tender Preparation:
- Assist in preparing tender documents under supervision
- Contribute to finalizing tender submissions
- Budgeting and Project Proposals:
- Prepare budget proposals, scopes of work, and cost estimates for maintenance projects
- Plan space utilization to optimize organizational efficiency
- Maintenance Planning and Policies:
- Develop and implement facilities and equipment maintenance schedules
- Support health and safety policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Contract Monitoring:
- Monitor contracted services for maintenance, refurbishment, and repairs
- Ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain an updated facilities management database
- Monitor sectional expenditure against budget allocations and prepare reports
- Procurement and Inventory Management:
- Prepare bid specifications and maintain equipment inventories
- Develop draft procurement plans
- Supervision and Evaluation:
- Supervise subordinate staff and provide direction as needed
- Evaluate completed work by service providers and prepare project close-out reports
- Performance Monitoring:
- Monitor service provider performance for municipal facilities
- Report findings and recommendations to supervisors
- Quality Standards and Compliance:
- Establish minimum design standards for project quality and longevity
