About the Programme Co-ordinator Role
The appointed Programme Co-ordinator will work closely with the Deputy Director to manage and deliver critical services aimed at promoting child safety, psychosocial well-being, and education. This role requires strategic leadership, coordination, advocacy, and strong administrative oversight.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will oversee various aspects of the Child Protection Programme, including:
- Implementing strategies for psychosocial and therapeutic support.
- Driving Prevention and Early Intervention Programmes to raise awareness in communities.
- Aligning Childline services with the organisation’s goals for the Western Cape region.
- Developing relevant training and materials to enhance programme effectiveness.
- Advocacy, networking, and building stakeholder relationships to enhance visibility and resource mobilisation.
- HR management, including supervising teams, conducting appraisals, and fostering professional growth.
- Overseeing project finance, budgeting, and administrative compliance.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required
To be eligible for the Programme Co-ordinator vacancy at Childline, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Registration with SACSSP as a qualified Social Worker.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working within an NGO environment in a similar role.
- Demonstrated commitment to children’s rights and understanding of South Africa’s child protection landscape.
- Strong written and spoken English skills; the ability to converse in IsiXhosa will be advantageous.
- Experience in effectively leading and managing teams to meet organisational goals.
