1. SASSETA Position: Assessment and Workplace Practitioner
- Contract Duration: Fixed-term until 31 March 2030
- Annual Remuneration Package: R885,464.00
- Reporting To: ETQA Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement systematic processes for the planning, designing, moderation, validation, and approval of assessment instruments.
- Ensure consistency in assessment tools and manage the quality assurance of moderation and validation processes.
- Develop and maintain a database of accredited external qualification evaluators.
- Manage external assessment processes and maintain secure electronic databases for learner achievements and assessment records.
- Report to the QCTO on performance and quality assurance activities.
- Oversee the development and design of assessment instruments and Qualification Assessment Specification (QAS) Addendums.
- Manage External Integrated Final Assessments (EISA), including scheduling, coordination, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure compliance with SASSETA’s standard practices for marking, moderation, and result submissions.
- Handle assessment appeals and certification recommendations to the QCTO.
- Conduct site visits to assessment centers as per the monthly schedule.
- Develop and implement accreditation criteria and provide regular and ad hoc reports.
Job Requirements:
- Education: Grade 12 or Matric; NQF Level 6 qualification in Training and Development / Education Management / B-Tech in HRM / OD ETD / Learning Development Advisor.
- Experience: At least 3 years in learning and development or a skills development environment; 2 years in assessment assurance processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge: Understanding of education, training, and quality assurance processes, Skills Development Act, and Occupational Qualification Sub-Framework policy.
- Skills: Intermediate computer literacy, valid driver’s license, professionalism, ethics, conflict management, compliance orientation, communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize.

2. Position: Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Practitioner
Annual Remuneration Package:
- Total: R637,461.00 (all-inclusive)
Reporting To:
- Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in submitting risk-related information on the Governance Charter and provide evidence to the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) as required.
- Help prepare quarterly reports on GRC targets for the Annual Performance Plan (APP) and submit them to DHET.
- Prepare and submit quarterly reports on the Strategic Risk Register and the Compliance Framework to National Treasury.
- Compile evidence for the annual risk maturity assessment submission.
- Support the GRC office in preparing submissions for the Board and its sub-committees.
- Attend and participate in internal committee meetings as necessary.
- Collect information from Committee Secretaries regarding quarterly meetings.
- Provide necessary information to the Risk Management Committee (RMC) and the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC).
- Assist in the formulation and review of GRC policies for ARC recommendations.
- Develop and monitor the Organisational Compliance Calendar regularly.
- Prepare compliance reports for the Risk Management Committee.
- Coordinate internal and external audit processes, including Audit Steering Committee meetings.
- Facilitate engagement sessions between Internal Audit and business units, as well as between AGSA and Internal Audit.
- Consolidate and update risk registers on a quarterly basis.
- Organize and facilitate staff training sessions on risk management.
- Schedule risk assessment and fraud awareness workshops.
- Support the implementation of the Risk Management Plan and Fraud Prevention Plan.
Job Requirements:
- Education: NQF Level 6 qualification or equivalent in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit, Financial Management, Project Management, or Financial Accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance Management, or Corporate Governance.
- Skills: Intermediate computer literacy, experience in coordinating activities.
Skills and Attributes Required:
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and related legislation.
- Understanding of administrative processes and systems.
- Proficiency in risk mitigation and management.
- Strong planning, organizing, and systems thinking abilities.
- Team-oriented and service-focused with excellent time management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to monitor and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Good analytical, report writing, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
