Requirements
Education:
- National Senior Certificate
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) / B. Degree (NQF Level 7 as recognized by SAQA) in Supply Chain Management / Logistics Management / Purchasing
Work Experience:
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in the Supply Chain Management environment
Knowledge and Skills:
- Basic knowledge of supply chain duties, practices, and the ability to capture data
- Proficiency in operating computers and collecting statistics
- Understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service
- Familiarity with work procedures within the supply chain management environment

- Conscientious, reliable, honest, and punctual
- Able to use own initiative and discretion
- High energy levels and tolerance for stress
- Accuracy in performing all functions and tasks
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Management Clerical Services:
- Compile and maintain records
- Issue equipment and accessories to components and individuals in need
- Identify redundant, non-serviceable, and obsolete equipment for disposal
- Verify the asset register
- Demand and Acquisition Clerical Services:
- Update and maintain supplier (including contractors) database
- Ensure suppliers are captured and registered on the system
- Request and receive quotations
- Capture specifications on the electronic purchasing system
- Ensure that all orders are placed on time
- Issue and receive bid documents
- Logistical Support Services:
- Check, place, and verify orders for goods
- Receive and verify goods from suppliers
- Capture goods in registers and databases
- Receive requests for goods from end users
- Issue goods to end users
- Maintain goods registers
- Update and maintain the register of suppliers
- Supervision of Human Resources/Staff:
- Allocate and ensure quality of work
- Personnel development
- Assess staff performance
- Apply discipline
- Provide secretariat or logistical support during bid consideration and contract conclusions
