Key Responsibilities of the SHE Officer:

- SHE Audits: The SHE Officer will be involved in both internal and external SHE system audits to check compliance with legal and other requirements.
- Promoting SHE Awareness: Building a SHE culture within the organization is another core responsibility. The officer must promote awareness of health and safety issues and encourage compliance across all departments.
- SHE Training: The SHE Officer will assist in identifying organizational SHE training needs and help maintain the training matrix.
- Conformance with Legal Requirements: Ensuring that Amatola Water complies with all relevant health and safety laws and regulations is a vital part of this role.
- Policy Development: The officer will assist in the development, review, and maintenance of SHE policies and procedures to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
- Data Analysis: Conducting monthly and annual trend analysis of SHE incidents helps in proactively reducing incident severity and frequency.
- On-site Inspections: Regular on-site inspections are required to monitor SHE compliance and maintain emergency preparedness.
