South West Gauteng TVET College Jobs Available
1. Student Counsellor
- Contract Duration: Three (3) years fixed term
- Reference Number: SWGC/CSC/2024
- Salary: Level 8 – R376,413 per annum
Minimum Requirements:
- Recognised Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6/7
- Registration with SACSSP is compulsory
- At least two years’ experience in Counselling
- A valid driver’s license with at least three years’ experience
Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Knowledge of CET Act and DHET Student Support Services Framework
- Understanding of College student code of conduct
- Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Presentation and report writing skills
- Planning and organising skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with students to understand their issues and develop strategies/interventions
- Consult and communicate with parents about counselling services and support
- Provide annual programs to equip students with skills for a healthy lifestyle
- Compile and maintain secure and confidential records of all counselling sessions
- Work with external agencies to provide further support
- Implement interventions related to student support services framework
- Conduct health and social awareness programs
- Identify and address common social, emotional, and psychological issues among students
2. Student Support Services (3 posts)
- Contract Duration: Three (3) years fixed term
- Reference Number: SWGC/CSSS/2024
- Salary: Level 5 – R216,417 per annum
Minimum Requirements:
- Recognised Matric/ National Senior Certificate or NCV Level 4 Certificate
- Recognised National Diploma in Public Management/ Management Assistant/ Financial Management/ Business Management or equivalent qualification at NQF Level 6/7
- A valid driver’s license with at least three years’ experience
- Two years’ experience in the TVET Sector, Financial Aid Environment
Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills:
- Knowledge of CET, PSET, PSA, PSR, 2016, PFMA, and Departmental policies
- Basic knowledge of financial practices, data capture, computer operation, and financial statistics collation
- Understanding of Public Service financial legislation, procedures, and Treasury Regulations
- Knowledge of financial operating systems (ITS, etc.) and NSFAS Rules and Guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate campus sports, arts, and culture activities
- Coordinate student placement assessments
- Maintain sports, recreation, arts, and culture activities
- Coordinate student governance activities at the Campus
- Provide student financial aid services support at the Campus
- Assist students in booking for Psycho-social appointments
- Support Students with Special Needs in line with DHET and College processes
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports and NSFAS Campus Results Template
- Log and submit applications, ensuring all required information is attached
- Ensure bursaries comply with NSFAS guidelines and funder MOU/SLA
- Determine eligibility of applicants for financial aid
- Check accuracy of completed documents and maintain proper filing
- Analyse NSFAS provisionally funded lists and prepare registration data for upload
