The Department is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill the position of Warehouse Controller within the Fleet Risk & Logistics Management sector. This is a one-year contract position based at the Gqeberha Government Garage.

Job Requirements
Candidates applying for the Warehouse Controller position must meet the following requirements:
- Education: National Diploma (NQF level 6) in Logistics, Public Administration, Public Management, Transport Management, Transport Economics, or Management.
- Experience: At least 3 years of relevant working experience in a Warehouse/Depot at a supervisory level (SL 7/8), with at least one year in a fleet environment. Logistics experience will be an added advantage.
- License: A valid code 08 driving license is essential.
- Skills and Competencies: Good communication skills, team player, self-management, problem-solving, decision-making, and computer literacy.
Key Responsibilities
The Warehouse Controller will be responsible for the overall running of the depot/warehouse. Key duties include:
- Managing the receipt of vehicles, including new, awaiting repairs (towed in vehicles), rental, relief, and returned non-compliant vehicles.
- Overseeing the installation of accessories as per specification with various accessory suppliers (e.g., decals, e-fuel, tracking systems, number plates, sirens, lights, etc.).
- Managing accessory suppliers and the dispatching of vehicles to different users.
- Handling the decommissioning of non-compliant vehicles, including the removal of vehicle accessories.
- Ensuring the safekeeping of vehicle accessories and vehicle keys.
- Conducting vehicle stock reconciliation and reporting.
- Managing allocated resources, provisioning of facilities, and security services.
- Liaising with service providers.
