Requirements
- Education: Grade 12.
- Experience: At least 7 years in a service-related IT environment with significant experience in planning and organizing service delivery.
- Supervisory Experience: Minimum of 1 year or possession of the RU Supervision Certificate.
- Administrative Skills: Proven experience in administrative roles.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead IT Support Technician
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and support to the IT team, ensuring all systems and services are maintained to a high standard.
- Problem Resolution: Address complex technical issues escalated by Tech I and Tech II staff, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- System Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and updating of IT systems to ensure reliability and security.
- User Support: Ensure high-quality support services for university staff and students, addressing IT-related inquiries and issues promptly.
- Training and Development: Conduct regular training sessions for IT staff to keep them updated on the latest technologies and best practices.
- Project Management: Lead IT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
- Policy Implementation: Ensure compliance with university IT policies and contribute to their development and improvement.
