- Reception and Enquiries: Serve as the first point of contact for the department, handling general reception duties and responding to enquiries from students, staff, and visitors.
- Administrative and Secretarial Support: Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to allocated consultants and emeriti professors, including managing correspondence and scheduling meetings.
- Support for Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and RA-system Administration: Assist support staff with various administrative duties related to undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including the Research Assistant (RA) system.
- Financial Administration: Manage financial operations using the SUNFin system, including departmental asset management and procurement.
- Facilities and IT Management: Oversee the management of departmental facilities and provide IT support to ensure optimal functioning of departmental resources.
- Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Administration: Administer CPD activities for the department, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and maintaining accurate records.
- National Research Foundation (NRF) Applications: Coordinate and manage applications for research funding through the National Research Foundation.
- MBChB IV Elective Students Programme Administration: Handle all administrative aspects related to the MBChB IV Elective Students programme.
- Academic Programme and Annual Academic Day: Assist in the organisation and administration of the departmental academic programme and the annual academic day.
- Organising Functions and Workshops: Plan and organise departmental functions, workshops, and other events as required.
