Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (NQF level 7) in Film, Communications, Media Production, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in video production, including using video equipment.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
Functional/Technical Competencies
- Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects).
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and video production tools.

Key Responsibilities
Video Planning and Filming:
- Develop detailed plans for video content, including objectives, target audiences, and key messages.
- Film high-quality videos for multiple platforms such as the university website, social media channels, and internal communications.
- Ensure that all video shoots are conducted efficiently and effectively, capturing the required content as per the project brief.
Editing and Post-Production:
- Edit video footage to create polished, professional content that meets the university’s branding and quality standards.
- Incorporate elements such as graphics, text, and special effects to enhance the visual appeal and informational value of the videos.
- Perform sound mixing and color correction to ensure a high-quality final product.
Production Management:
- Oversee all technical aspects of video production, including setting up and adjusting lighting, sound, and camera equipment to achieve optimal results.
- Coordinate with other team members and departments to ensure all production needs are met and deadlines are adhered to.
- Creative Development:
- Collaborate with Corporate Relations and Marketing managers and the digital media team to develop video concepts and scripts.
- Generate new ideas for engaging video content and stay updated on video trends and technologies.
- Post-Production:
- Handle editing, sound mixing, and adding graphics or special effects.
- Ensure video content meets branding guidelines and quality standards.
- Project Management:
- Oversee video projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with the university’s standards and objectives.
- Collaboration:
- Work with faculties, departments, staff, and students to capture events, interviews, and other activities.
- Ad Hoc Tasks and Development:
- Complete tasks as assigned by line management.
- Keep up-to-date with new software and design techniques.
- Participate in professional development activities.
