Job Purpose
The primary goal of the General Worker position is to assist artisans in maintaining and enhancing the water distribution network. This work is central to achieving our organisational goals of reliable water provision and improved water infrastructure for the community.

Primary Functions and Responsibilities
The General Worker will be responsible for several essential tasks that maintain the functionality and cleanliness of the water distribution network. Key duties include:
- General Maintenance and Housekeeping:
- Clean and upkeep the office, terrain, vehicles, facilities, and equipment.
- Ensure a safe, organised, and hygienic work environment.
- Excavation and Repair Support:
- Assist with digging and clearing trenches, using tools like shovels, pickaxes, rakes, and rammers.
- Support in the repair of leaking pipes, including backfilling and removing excess materials from the site.
- Materials Handling:
- Sort, load, unload, move, and store equipment, materials, supplies, and other items by hand as needed.
- Machinery Operation and Site Clean-up:
- Operate water pumps and assist in cleaning machinery and tools.
- Remove any obstructions and maintain a tidy workspace after completing tasks.
