Key Responsibilities
As a Human Resources Admin Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- HR Policy and Procedure Implementation: Ensuring the standardization and compliance with HR policies and procedures within Legal Aid SA.
- Centralized HR Processes: Effectively manage and deliver centralized HR processes, focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
- Risk Mitigation: Implement key controls to mitigate HR operational risks, ensuring smooth and lawful processes.
- Recruitment Management: Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including advertising, shortlisting, issuing appointment letters, handling regret letters, and ensuring proper onboarding procedures.
- Employee Onboarding on SAP: Load employee profiles and benefits such as medical aid and pension fund contributions onto SAP in line with Legal Aid SA’s HR policy.
- HR Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR documentation, including employee personnel files, records, and filing systems.
- HR Helpdesk and Public Folders: Address queries efficiently through the HR Helpdesk and ensure discrepancies or unusual features are resolved promptly.
- Employee Benefits Management: Ensure accurate administration of medical aid, pension fund, and Group Life in compliance with company policies.
- Payroll Processing: Support accurate payroll administration, ensuring no errors and compliance with payroll cut-off dates.
- Remuneration and Leave Management: Handle pay queries and ensure the correct processing of leave applications and attendance management.
- Employee Termination Processes: Accurately manage termination processes on SAP, ensuring benefits such as medical aid and pension fund are updated correctly.
You will also provide any additional logistical or administrative support required by the HR department.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, Legal Aid SA is looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Educational Requirements:
- A National Senior Certificate (Matric) is essential.
- A post-Matric qualification such as a National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management/Organisational Development will set you apart.
- Experience:
- At least two (2) years of administrative experience is required, particularly in HR-related roles.
- Technical Skills:
- Experience with SAP systems will be a distinct advantage as much of the HR work is managed through SAP.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
