Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualifications:
- A Secretarial Certificate or equivalent NQF Level 5 qualification is required.
- Experience and Skills:
- Previous secretarial experience, especially in a political environment, is advantageous.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Office Suite).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with political party policies and manifesto.
- Ability to understand and follow protocols, showing discretion and security awareness.

Core Responsibilities
As the Party Secretary, you will support the Office of the Chief Whip by carrying out various administrative tasks essential for the effective functioning of the political office. Here’s a breakdown of your key duties:
- Administrative and Secretariat Services:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support, including document management.
- Handle all relevant and confidential information, ensuring secure and organized filing.
- Event and Activity Coordination:
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor party activities to ensure alignment with political objectives.
- Provide support to Councillors in preparation for meetings of the Chief Whip, Leader, and Chairperson.
- Document Management:
- Assist with storage, retrieval, and processing of correspondence and essential resources.
- Write minutes during Caucus meetings and maintain thorough records of all relevant documents.
- Stakeholder Liaison:
- Engage with stakeholders, organizations, and institutions as directed by the Chief Whip.
- Facilitate smooth communication and coordination between the Chief Whip and Chief Whip Council.
- Reception and Office Management:
- Manage all front-office functions, including receiving letters, acknowledging correspondence, and directing queries.
- Provide a warm, professional receptionist service, ensuring effective office administration.
- Financial Monitoring:
- Track financial deductions for Councillors as assigned, ensuring accuracy and transparency.
