Key Responsibilities
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Diary Management: Efficiently manage the schedule for the CFO and the Finance Unit, ensuring meetings and deadlines are well-coordinated.
- Filing System: Develop and maintain an organized filing system for both physical and electronic documents relevant to the CFO’s work.
- Meeting Support: Prepare necessary documentation for scheduled meetings, take accurate minutes, and distribute them to relevant stakeholders.
- Liaison with Auditors: Assist in collating and submitting documents to both internal and external auditors.
- Report Compilation: Prepare timely reports to meet government and internal deadlines. You’ll also assist in compiling submissions and presentations for various committees and stakeholders.
- Travel Arrangements: Organize all travel logistics for the Finance Unit, ensuring that all requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner.
- Meeting Equipment: Ensure the availability of data projectors and other equipment required for presentations and meetings.
- Procurement: Assist in the requisition of goods and services, including placing orders for stationery and managing purchase orders.
- Presentations: Assist the CFO with the preparation of presentations for Council meetings and stakeholder submissions.
Qualifications and Experience
To qualify for this role, you need:
- Matric (High School Certificate)
- Accounting or Bookkeeping Qualification: Essential for understanding the financial tasks involved.
- Administrative/Secretarial Qualification: This will help you manage the clerical duties effectively.
- 4-5 Years of Relevant Experience: Proven experience in a similar role is key, including a minimum of 2 years’ general accounting experience.
- Experience in MS Office Suite: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is essential for day-to-day tasks.
- Excellent Typing and Report Writing Skills: You need to be quick and accurate when typing documents and drafting reports.

- Experience Preparing Presentations: The ability to put together polished PowerPoint presentations is critical for supporting the CFO in meetings.
